1 The owner of this picture writes: My father's plane was a 1948 Luscombe (N1522B). He purchased it new. When he wasn't working around the state, he used to fly to Frenchman's just for fun, but also occasionally to pick up a friend there that worked at the Scheelite mine to take him home to his family on weekends in Hawthorne. The back of the photo says 1952 with no other information. I can't identify anyone in the picture. I've taken the picture to the Fallon museum to see if anyone could identify the light on the hill. I assume everyone is out looking at that light....can't imagine them out to see Dad, "Timber" Renken, flying in as he did it semi-regularly. The museum personnel couldn't shed any light, pun intended, on the subject, lol!! Photo provided courtesy Verna Mosby Collection 1952.

12 Courtesy Churchill County Museum. Guessing a 1960's shot, judging by the car near the pumps. White roof, door insignia, and spotlight suggest a law enforcement vehicle of some kind. For sale through Valley Realty
